Every week, an HR or L&D manager asks us a version of the same question: "What does a corporate team building program actually cost?" Most websites avoid the question. We are going to answer it.
These are honest per-person ranges from programs we have run in 2025 and early 2026. They are not the cheapest option in the market (cheaper exists, with predictable trade-offs in facilitation quality and activity design). They are also not the most expensive. They are what a professionally run, outcome-led program actually costs.
Indoor team building (no venue cost)
When the program runs at your office or a hotel ballroom you have already booked, the team-building cost is purely the facilitation, activities and props. Typical range: ₹1,200 to ₹2,500 per person for a half-day, ₹1,800 to ₹3,500 per person for a full day.
What moves you within that range: group size (larger groups have meaningful per-person economies), activity choice (Mafia Wars and Gigsaw are mid-tier; Cook It Up runs higher due to material cost), and facilitator seniority (a 12-year facilitator running a senior leadership cohort is priced differently from a junior facilitator running a new-hire group).
Day outing at a resort (with venue + transport)
For a day program at Nandi Hills, Lonavala, or any equivalent destination — including AC coach transport, resort day-package (welcome refreshments, lunch, hi-tea), structured team building program, facilitation and props — the typical all-inclusive range is ₹3,500 to ₹6,500 per person.
Resort tier is the biggest single variable. A Della Resorts day package sits at a different point on the curve than a mid-tier corporate resort. Group size matters too — 30 people pay more per head than 150 people at the same resort because fixed costs (facilitator team, transport per coach) are amortised differently.
Single overnight (one-night format)
For a Friday-evening to Sunday-afternoon format, including transport, single-night accommodation, all meals, structured program and facilitation: ₹8,500 to ₹16,000 per person.
Premium properties (Taj, ITC, JW Marriott, Hyatt) sit at the top of that range. Mid-tier corporate properties sit at the bottom. For a Mysore single-overnight from Bangalore at the Lalit Mahal Palace, expect the upper end of the range. For a Lonavala single overnight at Fariyas, expect the middle.
Two-night retreats
For a two-night format at a destination like Coorg, Chikmagalur, Rishikesh or Goa, including round-trip transport (or air-inclusive for Goa), accommodation, all meals, structured outbound or leadership program, professional facilitation, and a post-program facilitator report: ₹15,000 to ₹32,000 per person.
Two-night programs have the widest range because both the property tier and the program complexity move significantly. A Tata Plantation Trails Heritage Bungalow two-night Coorg leadership offsite for 30 senior leaders sits at the top of that range. A Club Mahindra Madikeri two-night for 80 mid-management sits in the middle. A mid-tier Chikmagalur property two-night for 60 sits at the bottom.
Virtual team building
Virtual programs run on a different cost structure. For a well-designed virtual program with breakout-room facilitation: ₹600 to ₹1,500 per person for 60–90 minute programs, ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 per person for half-day. Add-ons like physical kits couriered to participants add ₹400 to ₹1,200 per kit.
Outbound leadership programs
Structured outbound programs with competency mapping, facilitated debriefs, and a post-program written report sit at the top of the curve because facilitator quality is non-negotiable. Two-day outbound at Rishikesh, Karjat, or Coorg: ₹22,000 to ₹45,000 per person for the full programme.
What "hidden costs" we never charge
- Site visits to shortlisted properties (included).
- Pre-event planning calls (unlimited, included).
- On-the-day event management staff (included in the program cost).
- Photography during the program (included for groups above 50).
- Post-program participant feedback collation (included).
- Post-program facilitator report for outbound and leadership programs (included).
What can move the cost up unexpectedly — and why
- Last-minute bookings during peak season — premium properties hold inventory at full rack rate when booked within four weeks.
- Special dietary or accessibility requirements — usually marginal but worth flagging early.
- Multiple pickup locations across a city — additional coach hours add up.
- Custom theme execution requiring bespoke décor — typically a ₹500 to ₹2,000 per person uplift.
- Premium evening entertainment (named DJ, band, awards-show production) — varies widely.
How to actually compare proposals
If you are comparing proposals from multiple vendors, compare on five things only: total cost per person on the same exact group size and dates; what is included and what is excluded (most cheap proposals hide exclusions in the fine print); facilitator background and number of years running this specific format; whether a post-program report is included; and references from similar programs in the last six months. If you can answer those five, you can compare apples to apples.
